Introduction

This is one of a series of courses created for us by Music Lessons Anywhere. During this course we will get a grounding in playing the guitar, from the names of the strings and how to hold the neck. We will develop our knowledge of chords and riffs through to learning whole songs and performance tips.

Navigating The Guitar, Tuning & Chords

In this section we will look at navigating the guitar, string names & tuning. Then we’ll learn the chords E minor and A minor.

Strumming Chords & Riffs

In this section we will look at strumming, time signatures, bars and bar lines. We will also look at the chords A, D and E major and look at riffs.

Riffs & Exercises

In this section we will work more with riffs, we’ll look at changing from E to D minor. Then we’ll try a few exercises and speed up our playing.

Playing Songs

In this section we will learn some practicing tips and learn the chords G and C major. We will also learn how to hold the neck with harder chords and chord changes. Finally we will look at learning whole songs and performance tips.
