Introduction
This is one of a series of courses created for the CWU by Music Lessons Anywhere. We will start with the basics of hand position, the names of the notes and how to navigate them. We then move into reading and playing notes and scales, making chords, adding the left hand and finally creating melodies and improvising.
Hand Position & Note Navigation
In this session we will look at hand position on the keyboard, the names of the notes and how to navigate them. We will then try some exercises and scales.

Reading The Notes & Playing Pieces
In this session we will look at where the notes are on the keyboard, reading and playing both treble clef and bass clef notes, playing with both hands and reading our first piano piece.

Major & Minor Chords
In this session we will look at keyboard chords and accompaniment, including: making major and minor chords, adding the left hand, chord inversions and progressions, using chords in songs and adding 6ths and 7ths to our chords.

Improvisation
In this section we will be introduced to improvising; using scales to create melodies, pentatonic scales and blues scales.
