Another cohort of postal reps trained

The Southdowns, Weald and Rother Branch has successfully delivered a programme of workshops focused on the new postal agreements and procedures. The programme was structured as five one day workshops, enabling representatives to attend flexibly around their commitments.
The course content has been updated to ensure reps were informed and confident in the latest agreements, including:

  • Procedures and Policies
  • Royal Mail Industrial Relations Framework
  • Royal Mail Conduct Code Agreement
  • New Royal Mail Sick Pay arrangements
  • New (currently unagreed) Royal Mail Attendance Procedure
  • Other Royal Mail agreements

These workshops were arranged, organised and delivered by the branch’s Lead Union Learning Representative (ULR), Colin Fanning, and provided training to 24 representatives. Attendees included a mix of new and existing reps who had not previously attended any training, helping to strengthen knowledge, confidence and engagement across the branch.

Even though some procedures are unagreed, the branch made the decision to upskill reps now and update reps on any changes that can be agreed during the ongoing national talks with the business.
