CWU Raising AI Awareness with TUC Cymru

On Tuesday 31st March North Wales and Chester Combined branch ULR Caitlin Lloyd and Wales Project Worker Phil Cherrington delivered a presentation to the TUC North Wales Network outlining how they have been promoting AI Awareness amongst members in Wales.

Delegates from a range of unions including Unison, PCS, and Unite heard about how CWU have been promoting AI awareness through surveying members, holding drop-in sessions, and contributing to broader work such as TUC Cymru’s AI Reference Group.

Delegates asked a range of questions about the campaign including if there were opportunities for trade unions to use AI to support their own work and the best ways to tell if performance management systems used AI.

Caitlin and Phil also promoted CWU’s upcoming fringe event due to be held at the TUC Cymru Congress in Llandudno in May. On Wednesday 20th May @ 5pm CWU will lead a session exploring how a Shorter Working Week could be implemented in workplaces across the Welsh economy. CWU will also be submitting a motion supporting a shorter working week at the congress.
