CWU Statement on High Court Ruling

“The Supreme Court decision of the 16th of April is deeply disappointing. The ruling risks undermining our trans members rights at work and their access to services in wider society. This ruling comes at a time when hate crime and abuse against trans people has increased significantly and LGBT conversion therapy is still legal. Labour’s Equality Act 2010 needs enhancing and updating not narrowing down.
We stand in solidarity with all trans people in the UK. We will support you in the fight for trans equality. Trans rights are human rights.”
