CWU talks Tourette’s

The latest ‘In Conversation with Mark Anthony Bastiani’ session saw Sarah McClory, Director of Tourette’s Scotland, share a truly fascinating insight into peoples lives who live with ticks and Tourette’s.

We are keen for Branches and Regions to share this video widely as it is clear that awareness of Tourette’s is limited to basic understandings. The recent film ‘I Swear’ is the story of a young boy in Galashiels. John Davidson: diagnosed with Tourette’s syndrome at a young age which alienated him from his peers, he struggled with a condition few people had witnessed. The subject of Tourette’s is now much more topical hence we thought it would be great to get Sarah to speak about the condition and her own journey, which at times was tough to hear – but this is the reality of some aspects of Tourette’s.

Winston Richards, Regional Secretary for London & South East was in the audience and found the session, “Incredibly fascinating! Thank you to Sarah and the department for allowing this debate to happen.”
