Digital Photography Using Your Smartphone

On Wednesday, April 23rd, 2025, the Mount Pleasant Learning Centre launched an exciting new Digital Photography Course for smartphone users. Participants had explored the creative possibilities of capturing stunning images with their devices and learn essential techniques and tips to enhance their photography skills.

The course duration was divided into two one-hour sessions. Attendance was good, and feedback from the learners was positive after each session. The learners inquired about the possibility of intermediate and advanced levels.

One of the students, Sunny, was captivated by the revelation that he could snap a selfie using his Apple phone by pressing the volume button. He was thrilled to discover he could also take a picture using his Apple Watch. The excitement radiated from him as he imagined the possibilities. Sunny couldn’t wait to head home tonight and share this cool new trick with his family, envisioning all the fun they would have taking selfies during their outings in the future. It would be effortless and enjoyable, turning every family adventure into a memorable photo opportunity.

The feedback received from a learner regarding the Digital Smartphone Photography course indicates that it had a significant impact. Initially hesitant to participate, the learner used one of the Learning Centre’s desktops to browse the internet while observing the first session. After this observation, the learner decided to join the second session and expressed satisfaction with the course experience. They also requested to be informed about the scheduling of the next level.

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Colin Fanning for his exceptional course delivery. His friendly demeanour and approachable teaching style created an open, inviting atmosphere that significantly enhanced the learning experience. His supportive environment allowed for greater participation and engagement, making it easier for us to absorb complex concepts and freely share our ideas. Thank you, Colin, for making this a memorable and enriching learning journey.
