How to Use the Equality Act on Disability Cases

The Department ran its third regional session on the Equality Act, this time for the Eastern Region. There was an excellent take-up from within the region which was organised by the ULR Regional Lead Terry Henderson.

Most of the students started the day not knowing what power the Equality Act yields when it comes to using it effectively in personal cases, particularly where there is a disability issue which has brought our member to the attention of management, via performance or attendance matters.

Terry added “Our Reps got a lot out of this 1-day course on the Equality Act and this knowledge will be vital in assisting members in the future. I would strongly recommend other reps to do this.”
