North East Wales Skills Academy
June 19 2024On Friday 14th June North Wales and the Marches Lead ULR Ady Prins and Wales Union Learning Fund Project Worker Phil Cherrington visited the North East Wales Skills Academy building in Wrexham.
The North East Wales Skills Academy is a new project bringing together local training providers, employers, and learning reps to develop opportunities for workers in and around Wrexham. The project uses a mix of Welsh Government, UK Shared Prosperity and direct funding from local employers to offer funded training in areas such as driving and construction. To support this the academy has invested in new driving simulators which can give learners a taste of using a range of vehicles including HGVs, forklifts and excavators. There is also a new venue for community learning.
CWU Wales and the Marches are looking forward to working with the new academy to support members’ learning.
