Race Relations Law, 6o Years On

The Race Relations Act first came into force in the autumn of 1965 – events in the period leading up to this saw a growing campaign to make race discrimination unlawful. The Bristol Bus Boycott and other colour-bar discrimination practices in employment necessitated this law change.

The CWU recently ran a series of bitesize learning sessions to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Race Relations Act. These sessions were recorded and are now available online, on-demand.
