Routes To Swindon with the Postal Museum
December 22 2025
People have come to work at the Royal Mail site in Dorcan from many different places. The Postal Museum’s Routes To Swindon project sought to celebrate and record the stories and experiences of the workers there.
Between March and September 2025, the people at the Royal Mail sites at Dorcan shared their stories and took photographs of each other in the workplace.
This project was organised by the Andrea Dumbrell of the Postal Museum and Sandra Absalom, CWU Lead ULR for South West No7 Branch. It sought to show some of the ways in which people came to work in Dorcan, their differing career paths, and the jobs that they do. It also showed the importance of community.
You can download the project booklet and read more on the Postal Museum website.
