WEA South Asian Heritage Event

The WEA has just held its latest annual South Asian Heritage event at TUC Congress House and over 150 activists and interested persons registered to attend on the day.

The CWU has enjoyed a good working relationship with colleagues at the WEA and this was demonstrated by the number of CWU reps in attendance at the event.

There was a broad range of speakers with one of the themes focusing on making sure people understood what ‘gaslighting’ looked like, as this was associated with aspects of coercive behaviour and abuse. WEA have recently created some online courses on understanding signs of gaslighting and details can be found here.

South Asian authors, film producers, high profile lawyers such as ‘The Immigration Guru’ and many others were all on hand to encourage people from their community to strive for greatness.
